IM France (24.07.18)

Ironman France was something of a bucket-list race for me. The course has changed since the original 1982 Nice Triathlon (won 10x by Mark Allen) but originally the event was THE race in the calendar alongside Kona in terms of stature and prestige. Races like Nice exist and continue over the years because of the passion that people have for the sport and I wanted to experience the event for myself.

IM Copenhagen & 70.3 Weymouth (17.09.17)

A quick recap on Copenhagen since I didn't blog about that at the time, then onto the in's and out's of the race in Weymouth. A wonderfully British place to race with beach-huts, bunting and paddle boats, and it was great to be back racing on UK soil after a 7year absence. Read on for an update on the weekend's weather and condition of the Dorset hedgerows...

Challenge Lisboa Half (08.05.17)

Race #3 was Challenge half Lisboa and I felt like there were some signs of fitness returning, mostly on the bike. I finished 6th which is sort of neither here nor there really compared to where I'd expect or like to be when fit-fit, but that's not where I am right now, so I'll not be beating myself up about that. I've had a chat with the ego, and she's adjusted accordingly...

...at 11k it was time to try and get some water from the aid station, first of all I choked on it (nice) then slowed to a walk to try and actually get some down my throat, whereupon my legs bucked from underneath me. IM World Championships (22.10.14)

Some may say I could or should be happy with being 11th in the world and certainly I've come a long way in four years. However, there is no denying that it's what you do on the day that counts, that is the bottom line. Believe it or not, I'm already looking forward to racing in Kona again in 12 months!

IM Frankfurt / European Championship Race Report (08.07.14)

In the week before the race we saw both Raffa and Murray exit from Wimbledon, not that I am comparing myself to Raffa and Murray, but at the time it reminded me that there are no guarantees or certainties in sport and I shouldn't be writing myself in or out of the race beforehand...

IM Lanzarote Race Report (21.05.14)

My performance on the weekend was a credit to the work of my coaches and the team around me to get me back on the start line and in decent race shape. I honestly cannot thank the team enough for the support that they bring to me as an athlete and combined with Rob's unwavering faith in me, I'm in a very good place.
